The STAR Scholars Network, a global organization dedicated to advancing human development through research and advocacy, invites applications for the STAR Fellows (Artists in Residence). This virtual role is ideal for accomplished visual artists, illustrators, and designers who are eager to contribute to global educational initiatives while maintaining a flexible, remote working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design cover images for academic books, journals, and publications for STAR Scholars Press
- Collaborate with international scholars and participate in virtual projects that elevate the role of art in education.
- Engage with key initiatives such as the Noam Chomsky Global Connections Awards, Global Education For Peace Award, and Millennium Scholars Program.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Interest in graphic design, illustration, and visual arts, particularly in creating cover images for books and academic journals.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and other graphic design tools.
- Interest in academic publishing (books, journals, newsletters, conference events) or related fields.
Preference will be given to college/university faculty members, as this position aligns with tenure and promotion requirements through its emphasis on professional service and global engagement.
Time Commitment:
- Flexible, with an estimated time commitment of 2-3 hours per month for project work, design tasks, and collaborative activities.
