Fees and Institutional Support

Open Access · Institutional Funding

Make your research open to the world — with support from your university.

STAR Scholars Press partners with universities, research institutes, and libraries worldwide so authors can publish OA books, chapters, and articles without paying full publication costs. Through institutional agreements, publication fees (APCs/BPCs) can be fully or partially covered.

  • Direct invoicing to institutions
  • Combine with grants/waivers
  • CC BY / CC BY-NC-ND options
  • Global discoverability

How institutional support works

Many institutions maintain OA budgets or transformative agreements to fund APCs/BPCs for faculty, staff, and students. Funds are commonly managed by libraries, research offices, academic departments, or consortia.

  • Full coverage: 100% of the publication fee is paid by the institution.
  • Partial coverage: A fixed percentage (e.g., 25–50%) or capped amount is covered.
  • Hybrid support: Combine institutional funds with STAR waivers, grants, or sponsorships for minimal author cost.
