Synopsis

This chapter examines how artificial intelligence and automation are transforming university administration into the operational foundation of smart institutions. Focusing on admissions, student lifecycle management, examinations, finance, human resources, compliance, and accreditation, it argues that administration is no longer a routine support service but a strategic, data-intensive system. The chapter highlights how AI-enabled workflows can improve efficiency, transparency, accuracy, and institutional responsiveness, while also addressing ethical and governance concerns such as privacy, algorithmic bias, accountability, and institutional readiness.
