Synopsis

Due to increasing concerns regarding environmental issues, green investment is being increasingly considered an effective paradigm that simultaneously addresses financial and environmental issues as well as social responsibility (Ge & Zhi, 2016; Chariri et al., 2019). It has therefore become essential to study the effects of green intellectual capital (GIC) on organizational performance. Hence, this study tests for the linkage between GIC and corporate performance. Secondary data were collected for the 41 listed companies in Mauritius over the period 2007 to 2018. The outcomes validated that GIC positively influences FP. The novelty of this study is unfolding the contribution of GIC as an intangible resource for organizations in achieving superior performance and competitive advantages at the organizational level.
