Bio:
Dr. Adele Newson-Horst is a Professor of English and Language Arts at Morgan State University, specializing in African American literature, twentieth-century African American women’s writing, Caribbean literature, and Black Feminism & Quare Studies. Her scholarship explores literary traditions that illuminate identity, resistance, gender, and cultural expression across diasporic communities. She teaches courses on African American literature and culture, women novelists, Caribbean literature, and feminist literary theory. Dr. Newson-Horst is the editor of The Essential Nawal El Saadawi: A Reader (Zed Publishers, 2010) and brings extensive expertise in global, intersectional, and transformative literary studies to the Literature Book Series.
