Synopsis

This chapter reports a qualitative case study of internationalization strategies used by a university in Hong Kong to improve academic program quality. Drawing on department documents and interviews with department heads, it identifies five major areas of strategy: international connections, curriculum development, research and scholarly work, internal and external resources, and student and faculty recruitment. The chapter shows how internationalization can support quality assurance, academic competitiveness, and institutional prestige when embedded in departmental planning and program improvement.
